
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I have practiced psychotherapy for over
30 years. I completed the MSW degree and graduate internships at Syracuse University in 1990.
Post-graduate training included 7 years of supervised clinical experience in a Sexual Assault Treatment Center and an Outpatient Counseling setting. I have maintained a robust
private practice in Charlottesville, VA since 1996. Additionally, I teach the Mindful Eating Class
in the Mindfulness Center at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and guest lecture in the
graduate counseling program at Eastern Mennonite University.
Areas of expertise: Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorders, Trauma, Grief/Loss,
Life Changes/Transitions (e.g. parenthood, relocation, marriage, divorce) and College/Graduate Student concerns. I am trained in EMDR and have extensive training
and experience in the treatment of disordered eating.
I am an experienced practitioner of Mindfulness Meditation and currently serve on the
Board of Directors of the Insight Meditation Community of Charlottesville (IMCC).
Mindfulness is foundational in my work with clients.
