My approach to therapy is respectful and collaborative, where client and
therapist work together to understand the problems with which the client
is struggling. Creating a safe environment is paramount. I strive for a
balance between allowing time and space to understand problems, and
challenging clients step outside of habitual patterns of thought and behavior.
Sometimes the process is task oriented focusing on behaviors and goals
worked on outside of therapy. Other times we may focus on what is arising
in the session. Therapy is tailored to each individual and the issues being
addressed. I use a variety of methods drawn primarily from the following
modalities:
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Mindfulness
Body-Centered Psychotherapy
Buddhist Psychology
Psychodynamic Therapy
Mindful Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT)
EMDR
